Speaking of meat pies...

While on the subject of Australian foods, another came to mind which is supposedly a pretty traditional thing as well. The good ol' sausage sizzle.

Now don't get this confused with any ol' typical sausagefest as we have in the US. This sausagefest includes females.

Apparently it is usually a means of either fundraising, or to promote a local butcher's sausage. LOL. ROFL. ok. ok..

So although many times you may see the sign "FREE", you are supposed to pay a couple bucks for it and they give you an untoasted piece of bread with a sausage in it. I guess hot dog buns don't exist here.

Although I find it funny that if you put a free sausagefest sign up in Oakland, you'll have a line around the city waiting for one.

But anyway, verdict on this is... uhh... might want to pass unless you are really craving some good ol' sausage in you. Mmmmm mmmm good.
